Cost Accountant

Accountants One is helping another new client through the hiring process for a Cost Accountant.

This is a great opportunity for someone that enjoys helping create and build a new process.

This is a newly created role for a 50 year-old company that is growing and now has private equity backing.

This is a highly visible role, reporting to the CFO and working with senior management.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of cost accounting in a custom manufacturing environment.

This is not a role that allows for learning on the job, the company wants someone with similar experience that can help define the role and the processes.

Job Requirements: Job Duties: Develop and implement cost accounting process for materials, labor and overhead Manage the Bill of Materials for each product and option within the ERP system Manage the Routing of Production Orders Provide senior management with data and financial / cost analysis Prepare Cost of Goods Sold reports Manage the annual physical inventory count Perform inventory reconciliation to include raw materials, Work in Progress and finished goods Develop and implement depreciation schedules Assist with budgeting and forecasting for purchasing costs and labor costs Job Requirements: Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance preferred Five or more years of hands-on, cost accounting in a custom manufacturing environment Extensive Bill of Material / BOM experience Strong ERP experience Bilingual Spanish big plus Advanced Excel skills
