Controller – CPA/Non-Profit!

Community service based non-profit organization located in south Los Angeles is looking for a Controller.

While overseeing a small team, the Controller will also be responsible for the day to day accounting and finance functions of the organization.

Duties for the Controller include analyzing and preparing the fiscal budget, ensuring efficient accounting policies and procedures (i.e., account reconciliation, G/L analysis, account analysis, overseeing month / quarter/ year-end closes, etc.), financial reporting, and oversight of grants, funding, and donations.

The Controller will lead cyclical audits, prepare regulatory compliance documents, prepare tax filings, as well as partake in business operations decisions.

Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

CPA is required.

Strong non-profit industry experience is also required.

8+ years of accounting experience.

At least three years of experience in a management/Controller capacity.

Must have strong GAAP/technical accounting knowledge.

Strong systems skills
– including Excel.
