The selected candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting, regulatory reporting and payroll departments, as well as the firm’s accounting and financial management systems. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:• Direct daily operations in general accounting, reporting and analysis, regulatory, tax and payroll• Manage monthly departmental P&L statements to ensure all allocations and accruals are properly made and investigate incorrect, missing or unusual journal entries• Oversee financial regulatory functions including weekly reserve calculations, monthly net capital calculations and FOCUS filings• Manage new regulatory rules/requirements and create procedures or methods to apply new regulatory rules of initiatives• Oversee compilation of GAAP reporting, management financial statements and profit plan• Oversee consolidated financial statements for the parent company• Spearhead the Great Plains implementation and roll out.• Manage and serve as point of contact for all financial and regulatory external audits• Provide analysis and serve as a main point of contact for FINRA regarding financial regulatory manners throughout the year• Train, mentor, hire, promote and discipline staff and managers as necessary• Participate as member of the Financial Management Review Committee and Management Review Committee and be responsible for minutes.
