Reporting directly to our Chief Financial Officer, you will lead an exceptional team of professionals with operational oversight for general accounting, financial reporting, property accounting, gift administration, payroll, accounts payable, and cashiering. You will be responsible for a $3 billion annual operating budget that includes three hospitals. With a focus on ensuring consistent, high-quality financial services, you will:

•      Help team members achieve their professional potential

•      Foster teamwork and a performance-based culture with a focus on internal controls, customer service and process improvement

•      Build trusted relationships with key internal stakeholders

•      Conduct ongoing financial analysis and provide recommendations for process improvements

•      Lead, develop and ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards

•      Plan, coordinate and prepare for year-end external audit

•      Lead the financial analysis of capital related transactions including annual capital budgets for depreciation expense, interest expense and capital related cash flow

•      Coordinate bond due diligence activities and monitor accurate reporting of debt

•      Work to obtain and administer grant awards for health system programs

•      Lead the monthly closing process, reviewing revenues, expenses, and other statistical data and prepare monthly financial statements

•      Identify issues with hospital department operations and financial reporting

•      Provide key operational support to the CFO

•      Collaborate with IT to maintain/upgrade/enhance relevant systems

Qualifications

We’re seeking a flexible, self-motivated, detail-oriented, results-driven individual with:

•      Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting – advance degree preferred

•      Certified Public Accountant highly desirable

•      At least ten years of financial management experience in an academic medical center, hospital system, or similar environment

•      Five or more years of management experience

•      Ability to develop and lead a superior management team

•      Strong communication, collaboration, problem solving and analytical skills

•      Ability to develop advanced data queries using financial/reporting systems

•      Understanding of financial elements of health care reimbursement, OSPHD and healthcare regulations

•      Ability to influence others and inspire a commitment to quality, customer service, productivity and continuous improvement

•      Experience preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets

•      Ability to adhere to deadlines, schedules and other time constraints

•      Oversight experience with large-scale integrated accounting, reporting and financial systems
