As Controller, you will lead our Accounting team while ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of the monthly Profit and Loss Statement and the Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements in accordance with GAAP. Working closely with the Executive team and across the organization, you will help share insights and focus on delivering the year ahead of our Budget. Reporting to the VP of Accounting and Corporate Finance, you will be responsible for the management and development of a highly motivated team of accountants within the organization. RESPONSIBILITIES • Oversee the Company’s monthly closing process, ensure that financial statements are produced in accordance with GAAP • Drive the 5-day month-end close process. Maintain checklists to ensure consistent and accurate reporting. Generate insights re: material variances from Budget or Forecast and be able to summarize monthly activity. As part of the monthly close, develop and manage a monthly rolling forecast process to signal material trends and variances vs annual goals • Partnering with the Financial Reporting Manager, deliver monthly/quarterly reporting to Executive Team, Board Members and Investors to ensure accurate and timely by the 8th day of the month-end process • Ensure that all new accounting standards are adopted as necessary and assess/implement an internal control framework • Work with external partners including auditors, bankers, and tax advisors to build relationships, increase the Company’s capabilities and incorporate best practices into the Accounting team and across the company • Oversee tax compliance including, sales tax and corporate income tax; ensure filings are in accordance with regulatory requirements • Partner with the ERP team to drive continuous business process improvements leveraging technologies • Engage a team of high caliber developing professionals. Provide sound managerial guidance while also being a great coach and mentor • Provide leadership to staff that includes, but is not limited to: Accounting Managers, Senior Accountants, Staff Accountants, AP Analysts QUALIFICATIONS • 10 years related experience, gained through a combination of public accounting and private industry experience • At least four years of public accounting experience at a national respected firm • Big 4 experience highly preferred • Certified Public Accountant, or equivalent • Hands-on experience implementing, using and evolving an ERP system (NetSuite preferred) • Experience in CPG industry and/or e-commerce is preferred • Strong understanding of process and the desire to manage and implement improvements • Proven thought leader & excellent manager/coach with a track record of high team engagement scores • A team player who makes those around him/her betterAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high growth environment
