Responsibilities include:
Lead, mentor and manage team members to ensure top performance and achieving results while finding efficient and effective solutions that create overall organizational value The Controller must report financial results in conformity with financial and accounting policies established by the Organization.
Review and ensure the proper recording, maintenance and update of all job cost budget revisions The Controller is responsible for ensuring loan draws are processed in a timely, accurate and professional manner Aid in the preparation of annual business plans and periodic updates as well as long-term planning The Controller is responsible for the preparation and reliability of all financial projections required by management, our investors and lenders for our joint ventures and other investments The responsibility for all banking activities rests with the Controller including month-end close out process Supervise payroll process and ensure the accuracy of payroll submissions and the proper record retention for auditing purposes The Controller has the fiduciary responsibility of enforcing the operating procedures and policies
Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises two or more employees in the Accounting Department.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:
Interviewing, hiring, and training the accounting team Planning, assigning, and directing work Responsible for providing associates with ongoing, timely, candid and constructive feedback; developing associates to their full potential Develop performance improvement plans if an associate’s performance is not meeting expectations
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or related field required, CPA preferred Five+ years minimum related accounting and financial experience, including homebuilding experience required Advanced computer skills
– Microsoft Word and Excel, including the use of Sage 100, 300 or Timberline Excellent attention to detail Professionally perform multiple, detail-oriented tasks with simultaneous deadlines Excellent communication, analytical and writing skills as well as supervisory skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
