CO-OP Financial Services: Accounting Associate – Ap

The Opportunity We are seeking a talented Accounting Associate-AP to review and enter vendor invoices, travel expenses and ensures payments are made timely and in compliance with corporate policy.This position is temporarily-remote.

That means that this position is currently remote due to COVID.

However, once we transition back into the office, the manager would prefer for this person to work in the physical office.

What You Can Look Forward to Processes and audits invoices for payment, including approvals and coding to the appropriate cost center and general ledger account in accordance with the company policies and procedures.Processes payments weekly via check or ACH (NACHA), as well as submit remittances to vendors.Obtains and stores electronically all payees’ W-9s.Assists in saving all invoices electronically.Monitors all vendor payment agreements to find discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts.Keeps track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments.Reconciles payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate.Ensures all new vendor requests have been approved by VMO.Prepares annual 1099 forms.Responds to all inquiries in a timely, professional and efficient manner.Responsible for weekly filing all AP invoices and support.Assist with cancel payments, voided checks, and stop payments.Responsible for reporting risks that are identified to the appropriate team and/or management.

Additionally, responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting risks within the scope of your work area, to include, but not limited to Information Security risks.Actively supports our CO-OP culture and embraces our core values of Work as Partners, Communicate Openly and Honestly, Demonstrate Excellence and Champion Change in all interactions.

What You’ll Need to Succeed Completion of high school, or equivalent.Minimum of two years accounts payable experience.Accounting software, preferably Great Plains.Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Provides excellent customer service and maintains a positive attitude.Excellent verbal and written communication.Excellent organization skills.Detail Oriented.Ability to meet deadlines.Self-starter and dependable.Proficient in Excel.
