Chief Financial Officer
Creative Financial Staffing has been retained by a fast growing middle market manufacturing (defense/aerospace) company to identify a CFO/VP Finance & Accounting to join their team.
Why this opportunity?
This position will report directly to the President/CEO with significant exposure to the entire leadership team. The CFO will manage the accounting/finance team and be highly involved in driving day to day operations, developing corporate strategy and managing risk, as well as providing general business advice and strategy to President/CEO. The ideal candidate will be a technically adept managerial accounting and finance professional with deep expertise in commercial manufacturing, with a vision for the future while maintaining a desire to remain hands-on in the business
The CFO position is accountable for the financial and risk management operations of the company, which includes the development and successful implementation of accounting and financial policies, metrics tied to driving financial performance, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate and meaningful financial results.
Financial Analysis, Accounting, Budgeting and Forecasting
- Establish finance operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, sales, quality and customer service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, aligning incentives, and driving change.
Financial Management
- Develop finance organization strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations that support organization strategic thinking and direction, establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
Key Qualifications and Characteristics
- 15+ years of leadership-level financial management experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably aerospace/defense/high-tech manufacturing).
- Full command of GAAP accounting, financial statements, budgeting and forecasting, and internal controls.
- Proven success at leading and managing professionals in finance/accounting, including team development and efficient deployment through a practiced coaching and a people-focused management style.
- Ability to partner with CEO/President and other members of the executive team to drive the future direction of the company while bringing a unique point of view and expertise.
- Ability to advise the CEO and executive team colleagues to ensure sound strategic financial decision-making, accounting and financial management procedures, financial controls and compliance.
- Aerospace/defense or high-tech manufacturing sector experience.
- Government accounting knowledge preferred.
