Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for the financial management of Saban Community Clinic (SCC) and oversight of the Accounting and Billing departments. As a member of the Executive Team, the CFO will have direct involvement with organizational strategy development and implementation and be primarily responsible for fiscal strategic planning, forecasting, and tracking.

This role allows for a hybrid remote/on site schedule. Candidates must be local to Los Angeles, no exceptions.

Essential Functions:

  • Processes cash receipts, including review of general ledger codes, matching of supporting documents, and reconciliation of any differences; ensures accuracy, completeness and compliance with procedures.
  • Prepares month-end cash receipts journal entries and intercompany journal entries.
  • Prepare bank entries and journal entries including, but not limited to, weekly clinic site sliding fee cash deposits, patient donations, EFT receipts and revenue accrual.
  • Reviews pledge receivable work sheet from development and follows up to reconcile any differences.
  • Verifies and audits timekeeping records for compliance with established standards, maintaining time and attendance records
  • Maintains reconciliations and required schedules (e.g., Foundation revenue account) and check list for all cash receipts accounts and monthly revenue accrual.
  • Matches credit card charges to Authorize.Net; researches and resolves credit card issues.
  • Reconciles A/R account to the detail A/R aging reports and schedules.
  • Reviews cash receipts, A/R and revenue accounts for accuracy prior to releasing monthly financial statements.
  • Maintains and reconciles general ledger accounts, accounts receivable and pledges and revenue accruals.
  • Resolves donation and receivable calls and disputes with Development; works with Development staff to ensure revenues are correctly coded.
  • Reviews and prepares revenue journal entries.

Position Requirements:

  • An undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA, MBA, or MFA preferred
  • Solid accounting and finance experience with a minimum of five years in a senior management position in a non-profit setting
