About the Company:

Our client is a high-growth company in the events and live entertainment space, backed by a strong leadership team and well-capitalized for expansion. Headquartered near Downtown Los Angeles, the company is building infrastructure to scale nationally and is seeking a proven Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to drive excellence in financial reporting, systems, and strategic integration.

The Opportunity:

The CAO will report directly to the Owner/Board and oversee all accounting operations, internal controls, technical accounting, ERP systems, and financial reporting. This is a mission-critical role for a hands-on and strategic accounting leader who thrives in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments and can build scalable infrastructure from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and scale the accounting function, including oversight of GL, AP/AR, payroll, tax, and treasury operations.
  • Manage all aspects of the month-end close and ensure timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
  • Lead ERP implementation or optimization to modernize the company’s financial systems.
  • Serve as the technical accounting expert on complex transactions including revenue recognition, equity, leasing, and M&A activity.
  • Oversee and prepare for annual audits, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support due diligence, integration, and post-merger activities related to potential acquisitions.
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team to support future growth.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • Public accounting background (Big 4 or Mid-tier) is a must.
  • Minimum 12+ years of total accounting experience, with leadership roles in fast-growing or PE-backed environments.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP implementation (SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience in M&A or post-merger integration is a major plus.
  • Strong command of U.S. GAAP and internal controls (SOX not required but nice to have).
  • Collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style – comfortable working onsite with cross-functional teams.
