About the Company :

Our client is a high-growth company in the events and live entertainment space, backed by a strong leadership team and well-capitalized for expansion. Headquartered near Downtown Los Angeles, the company is building infrastructure to scale nationally and is seeking a proven Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) to drive excellence in financial reporting, systems, and strategic integration.

The Opportunity :

The CAO will report directly to the Owner / Board and oversee all accounting operations, internal controls, technical accounting, ERP systems, and financial reporting. This is a mission-critical role for a hands-on and strategic accounting leader who thrives in high-growth, entrepreneurial environments and can build scalable infrastructure from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Lead and scale the accounting function, including oversight of GL, AP / AR, payroll, tax, and treasury operations.
  2. Manage all aspects of the month-end close and ensure timely, accurate GAAP-compliant financial reporting.
  3. Lead ERP implementation or optimization to modernize the company’s financial systems.
  4. Serve as the technical accounting expert on complex transactions including revenue recognition, equity, leasing, and M&A activity.
  5. Oversee and prepare for annual audits, maintain strong internal controls, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  6. Support due diligence, integration, and post-merger activities related to potential acquisitions.
  7. Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team to support future growth.

What We’re Looking For :

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  2. Public accounting background (Big 4 or Mid-tier) is a must.
  3. Minimum 12+ years of total accounting experience, with leadership roles in fast-growing or PE-backed environments.
  4. Hands-on experience with ERP implementation (SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, etc.)
  5. Demonstrated experience in M&A or post-merger integration is a major plus.
  6. Strong command of U.S. GAAP and internal controls (SOX not required but nice to have).
  7. Collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style – comfortable working onsite with cross-functional teams.
