Business Development Supervisor
– Corporate, Finance and Investments
King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, seeks a Business Development (BD) Supervisor in Los Angeles, San Francisco or Silicon Valley to provide support related to pitches and RFPs, marketing materials, new business and marketing strategy initiatives, directory and award submissions, events, competitive intelligence research, marketing operations, and other business development and marketing activities as required for the Corporate, Finance and Investments (CFI) practice group.
The candidate will also be assisting with cross-selling and identifying business trends and opportunities to support the business.

Candidates Will Have the Following Responsibilities:
Pitches/RFPs – Assist with, and at times lead, pitches and RFPs; develop value-driven content for dynamic presentations in connection with pitches and new business opportunities; oversee final production of deliverables to meet deadlines; and maintain pitch/RFP files, log in pitch tracking system and proactively obtain outcomes.
Experience Lists – Gather and centralize experience lists for use in pitches, proposals, submissions and other materials, including creation of tombstones.
Marketing Materials – Create and maintain up-to-date marketing materials including fact sheets, brochures, PowerPoint presentations, placemats and other tailored materials.
Client targeting and business planning – Support the managers on strategic client targeting and business planning efforts including client teams within CFI and those that span across other practice groups.
Directory and Award Submissions – Manage league table submissions and use LexTrack to coordinate and compile submissions related to other legal directories and awards and arrange researcher interviews as applicable.
Event Support/Coordination – Provide support for K&S-hosted events including coordination and development of invitations, other types of content and event materials with the branding and marketing technology teams, as well as tracking and assisting with follow-up activities.
Tracking/Reporting – Track and report on BD budget spending, client targeting and partner BD-related activities.
Research – Conduct research on a variety of topics including prospective and current clients, competitors and industry/market trends to aid in the development of client teams, pitches, RFP responses, and other internal and external marketing initiatives.
Successful candidates are forward thinking, positive, energetic and detail oriented.
They will have at least five years’ experience in a comparable role at a law firm or in a professional services environment.
Candidates must have the ability to work well with various stakeholders within the firm, have proven project management skills in a fast-paced environment and have great judgment and communication skills.
Knowledge of marketing and business development-related activities is required.

Possess exemplary interpersonal and communication skills—both verbal and in writing, have excellent attention to detail, the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, work well under pressure, ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines across practices and incorporate feedback into their performance; Be proficient in Microsoft Office and PowerPoint (Microsoft Teams, iManage, BD Hub, Interaction, and Vuture experience desirable, but not required); Demonstrate a capacity to self-start and work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high volume environment while interacting credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization; and Be curious, resourceful and proactive.
