Boston Consulting Group: Senior Financial Analyst

WHAT YOU’LL DO BCGs West Coast office system is a multi-hundred million dollar business consisting of five offices: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Seattle, and San Diego.

The West Coast Finance Team provides system leadership with analysis and reporting to make informed strategic decisions on running, growing, and improving the business.

In addition, the team also provides exemplary finance decision support to several hundred staff in the West Coast region.

We also partner with colleagues across BCGs worldwide operations and the firms corporate office.

As a result, members of the team receive significant exposure to the overall business and develop networks and working relationships across the organization.

The analyst will quickly take on significant responsibility and receive frequent exposure to senior customers, including client service partners and West Coast leadership.

Basic Responsibilities: * Act as a thought partner for local Managing Directors and Partners to help lead business forward on multiple dimensions * Teaming with multiple stakeholder groups to understand business objectives and ensure efficient financial processes * Collaborating with a wide variety of business partners, including other local office functions, internal teams across BCG, and the firms corporate office * Creating and evolving insightful, efficient reporting in response to business needs * Managing and taking ownership for all financial aspects of case management * Completing and responding to ad hoc requests in a timely manner * Ensuring adoption of finance policies and highlighting potential risks * Supporting regional leadership and other key customers by performing analysis and effectively communicating key takeaways and recommendations * Providing training to internal customers * Performing other duties as assigned or required YOU’RE GOOD AT * Using and championing ClientView which digitizes and streamlines our pipeline, case opening, contracting, invoicing, and case reporting processes * Evaluating case economics, including project budgeting, forecasting, accounting, variance analysis, and price realization * Analyzing revenue trends and identifying key drivers, and investigating project overruns with case manager * Tightly managing DSO through timely invoicing and collection of accounts receivable, and implementing process improvements and best practices to achieve firm DSO targets * Working with client as appropriate to ensure we are aligned on achievements of milestones and coordinate billing * Reviewing contracts to ensure terms and potential risks are captured and reported correctly YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS) * Bachelors Bachelor’s in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA a plus * 2-5 years relevant work experience * Experience in professional services environment a plus * Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint (ability to train staff on intermediate level) YOU’LL WORK WITH Members of our finance team are responsible for preserving the intellectual capital, assets, and integrity of BCG.
