AVP – Finance & Accounting – Hybrid Remote in Dallas, TX

Responsibilities: SUMMARY:Directs the operations of the Finance and Accounting Departments which includes preparation, directly or through staff, of all Credit Union financial and risk reporting.

Assists the CFO in managing the investment portfolio and reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following.

Responsible for managing the preparation of the monthly financial statements including creation of eliminating entries to complete monthly closing process.Oversees the operations of the Accounting Department including complete, accurate, and timely completion of financial and accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices and Credit Union policies.In collaboration with the Accounting Manager, continually evaluate and optimize month-end close processes, striving to deliver process automation, improved accuracy and higher service.Oversees the preparation of branch and product profitability reporting.Responsible for financial risk management process including preparation of the quarterly asset liability risk measurement model.Assists CFO in analysis and acquisition of investment securities.Maintains investment records to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.Oversees preparation of quarterly Investment Report and Call Report.Responsible for managing, in collaboration with department heads, the annual budget and capital planning process.

Reports on budget variances.Leverage technology to build scalable/sustainable processes to create efficiencies, streamline department operations and improve employee experience.Develop, enhance, implement and enforce accounting policies, internal controls, and procedures that will improve the overall operation and reduce risks of the Credit Union.Responsible for maintaining and updating all pricing models.Presents monthly financials and budget recommendations to Advancial’s Asset & Liability Committee (ALCO) and Board of Directors as needed.Oversee the annual external audit and tax filings for all locations.

Identify a point of contact for the Finance and Accounting team.Prepares or directs the preparation of financial, statistical and operational analyses on a routine and ad hoc basis.Responsible for the development and operations of the Secondary Market Department including the sale and participation of assets on the secondary market, loan pipeline and pricing, servicing related issues, liquidity management and hedging activities.

Guide financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.

Improve or implement policy and procedures that will assist with transacting financial matters.Provides Leadership to build a strong team to include but not limited to hiring, training directing and evaluating employee performance within the Finance and Accounting Department; recommends promotion/transfer and salary adjustments.Maintains an understanding and competency with respect to software and other systems required to perform the duties of the position.

Qualifications: EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor’s degree (B.

A.) from four-year College or university in Finance and Accounting required.

A minimum of seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of formal education and experience.

Five years of prior management experience required.
