Assistant Controller

CFS has been retained by a rapidly growing Skateboard & Apparel company seeking to identify an Assistant Controller to join their team.

The company has doubled in size over the past year due to a successful e-commerce division, and is on track for similar growth in coming years.

This is a ‘can’t miss’ opportunity to join a scaling company, where you will work directly with the company’s Controller and gain valuable exposure to all aspects of their accounting processes.

As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for all supervising all day to day accounting, including month end close activities, quarterly and annual financial reporting and analysis, AP/AR, budgets and re-forecasts, and ensuring all accounting transactions are recorded and handled correctly.

Main Responsibilities:
Supervise the maintenance of company general ledgers, cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other accounting activities as required Manage month end closing processes including approval of journal entries, account reconciliations and supporting account analysis.

Responsible for organizing and managing the monthly accounting close process.

Serves as point of contact with outside auditors to ensure conformity with GAAP.

Responsible for identifying areas of financial statement risk and communicating these clearly to the Controller and CFO.

Maintains accounting records to support the company’s financial statements, most notably its accounting decisions on areas of judgment.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics CPA/MBA a plus Extensive knowledge of accounting procedures and GAAP accounting principles 5-7 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in a managerial position Previous knowledge of accounting reporting software such as QuickBooks, JD Edwards and/or Exenta is highly preferred.
