Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager will have the responsibility and oversight role for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll advisor and functions for Align’s North American Operations to ensure proper allocation of duties and accurate and timely completion of the monthly close in accordance with US GAAP rules and regulations. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger close, journal entries and reconciliations, financial reporting, year-end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Accounting Manager assists the CFO as a key liaison between the independent auditor and Company personnel during the annual financial audit process. The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring processes and procedures are followed to ensure proper internal controls.

  • Supervise and direct AP, AR, Payroll, and General Accounting functions
  • Working with direct reports to establish performance goals and objectives for each year as well as monitoring and advising on the progress to enhance the professional development of staff
  • Oversees all general ledger transactions to ensure both proper accounting treatment and adherence to internal policies
  • Preparing monthly financial statements and consolidation for all legal operating entities in accordance with US GAAP rules and regulations
  • Complete monthly general ledger balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Serves as department lead for annual financial audit, including preparation of annual financial statements, schedules, and information included in the auditor’s CPS (Client Prepared Schedule) listing in accordance with US GAAP
  • Acts as a key resource working directly with the CFO on special projects, all external audits, and continuous process improvements
  • Help ensure compliance with internal controls throughout the company
  • Prepare all local tax returns i.e., property taxes, and sales and use tax
  • SME in training for SAP development as new projects arise
  • Serves as lead for all other audits including, but not limited to, 401k, and insurance
  • Prepares daily cash reports and oversees banking activity
  • Acts as liaison for all banking needs
  • Manage employee expense program
  • Maintenance of fixed assets schedule and posting depreciation expense
  • Manage credit card program
  • Ensures payroll system is properly maintained
  • Other duties assigned by manager

  • Prepare month end journal entries and various balance sheet reconciliations
  • Approve month end balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supervise the general ledger accounting staff and functions
  • Supervise the accounts receivable and accounting staff
  • Perform various accounting general ledger duties and analysis
  • Approve monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts to general ledger
  • Review and posting of accounting staff journal entries
  • Maintain balance sheet account analysis and prepare monthly journal entries
  • Applying cash receipts, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting
  • Prepare monthly general closing entries
  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for advanced accounts
  • Supervise the accounting staff (accountants)
