Accounting Manager

Long-standing non-profit organization located near downtown Los Angeles is looking for an Accounting Manager.  While overseeing a small team, the Accounting Manager will have a very hands-on role, being responsible for the day to day accounting functions of the organization.  Duties for the Accounting Manager include overseeing month / quarter/ year-end closes, A/P, A/R, payroll management, and ensuring efficient accounting processes (i.e., account reconciliation, G/L analysis, account analysis, etc.).  The Accounting Manager will also oversee grant funding from various funding sources (i.e., federal, state, and county grants).  In addition to the Accounting Manager will assist with the budget process, audit planning, as well as tax and financial reporting.

 

  • Qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Non-profit industry experience is required.
  • Strong familiarity with federal, state, and county grants / billing is a big plus.
  • At least three years of experience in a management capacity.
  • Must have experience overseeing the payroll process.
  • Must have strong GAAP/technical accounting knowledge.
  • Strong systems skills – including Excel. 
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment is essential.
