Accounting Manager

Beacon Resources, in partnership with our Commercial Real Estate-oriented West L.A.

based client, seeks an Accounting Manager.

Job
– The hired Accounting Manager will support the accounting team by reporting on all the company’s properties.

You will make sure proper accounting processes for various tasks are properly functioning.

You will supervise a team of accountants to support you.

The hired Accounting Manager will also perform some tax duties to provide tax guidance to relevant parties.

This role is a mixed onsite/remote schedule, with most days spent onsite.

You will report to a Senior VP.

Compensation/Benefits
– Starting salary for this role starts at $120,000/year and increases depending on qualifications.

DUTIES OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER

General Ledger (G/L) Accounting
Prepare financial statements for corporate and real estate entities, including monthly financial closes and accounts balance reconciliations Post and review journal entries Review Balance Sheets and Income Statements of each operation to analyze the performance and cash flow streams of each entity Reconcile intercompany transactions Consolidate financial statements
Operational and Fixed Assets Accounting
Perform payroll recording Verify 401k transactions Approve all Accounts Payable invoices Approve all check processing Reconcile Fixed Assets schedules and Job Costs Reports Prepare capital expenditure reports
Financial Reporting
Prepare financial reports for upper management Prepared investor contributions and distributions schedule Respond to investor questions
Tax
Prepare year end audit and tax schedules Work with accounting firms to verify accuracy of tax returns
Miscellaneous
Assist in all internal and external audits Assist in all compliance issues Oversee all banking relationships Assist in all loan requests Work with Property Management companies to obtain all necessary financial data Accept other ad hoc duties as needed

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration with an Accounting focus, or equivalent experience CPA At least ten (10) years of Accounting Experience Knowledge of GAAP accounting
Preferred
At least two (2) years of Public Accounting Experience at a Big 4 or Tier 2 Accounting Firm Current or prior employment at a real estate company

Expert-Level proficiency in Microsoft Excel (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF Formulas)
Interpersonal
Superior communication skills Strong analytical experience Detail oriented, with high level of ethics and integrity Works well independently, yet espouse a teamwork ethos Transparent with other colleagues Ability to juggle multiple projects
