Our client is a research & development, ideation and sales and marketing firm for the food industry and is located in Glendale, CA. The Company is an award winning innovation partner for a number of North America’s largest food retailers. In 2018, our client partnered with a proven private equity partner to support their continued growth and is well positioned for both organic and acquisitive growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of cash management, accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, inventories, general accounting, cost accounting, and operations
- Develop performance measures that support the Company’s strategic direction and provide executive team with advice on the financial implications of business activities
- Prepare and review accounting journal entries and schedules; monthly reconciliations
- Coordinate periodic physical inventory counts
- Analyze financial performance against key business metrics
- Partner with management and accounting staff to identify, investigate, and analyze potential operational improvement
- Prepare analysis on food costs and cost of goods sold
- Manage the forecasting and budgeting processes
- Prepare weekly forecast of sales and expenses – including a 13 week cash flow
- Managing the annual financial audit cycle, audit requests, audit relationship
- Managing any outsourced tax advisor relationships and ensuring compliance with all taxing authorities
- Developing, documenting, and implementing all necessary accounting policies and procedures necessary to insure adequate internal controls related to ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and minimizing fraud
- Managing and ensuring compliance with local, state, federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Preparation and presentation financial reports to senior executives and investors as may be required
- Managing the day-to-day banking relationships, transactions, and required covenant submissions/ monitoring
- Prepare and maintain monthly borrowing base and compliance certificates for Company’s lender
- Assist in the development of materials for quarterly presentations to the Board of Directors
- Report to the Co-Founder / CFO
- Other duties as necessary
Requirements
- 3+ years of Professional Accounting Experience with a multi-million-dollar company
- Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and QuickBooks Super User
- Strong understanding of cost accounting
- Prior experience with systems implementation or integration
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with frontline employees, peers, and executives
Compensation And Benefits
- Up to $90,000 on the base
