Accounting Assistant

Position Summary

This position will work with the Finance team and help provide timely and reliable financial data to both internal stakeholders and external parties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with the month-end closing processes including accounts receivable, accounts payable, journals and bank reconciliation.
  • Process merchant settlements.
  • Support annual financial statement audit.
  • Ensure all transactions are accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Support the cash management responsibilities of the company including cash disbursements, deposits, transfers, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with financial analysis reporting.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university; or currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. 
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from members of the business community. 

Math Ability:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Excel and E-mail.
