Accounting Assistant

ResponsibilitiesAs the Accounting Assistant, you will be responsible for:+ Prepare monthly journal entries for the University systems+ Check the posting logs against actual journal’s and files hospital and campus journal entries+ Daily cash reconciliation+ Processes returned drafts, checks, cancelled checks, stale dated checks for all entities and wire transfers out.+ Audits Accounts Payable add/change vendors+ Audits weekly accounts payable checks write and check distribution for all facilities.+ Lawson General Ledger Maintenance (set up accounts, closing periods and running reports.Assist with check write, setup new general ledger accounts, assist with monthly financial close by processing campus journal entries.QualificationsWe’re seeking a detail-oriented, self-directed individual with:+ Associates Degree or higher or 3 years of work experience+ Healthcare experience preferred+ Ability to perform with frequent interruptions and ability to prioritize assignments under conditions of heavy workload and stringent deadlines+ Must possess excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with Medical Center Departments+ Must be proficient in Excel, MS Word and 10-key adding machine with speed and accuracyUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
