A nonprofit in the SFV seeks an Accountant/ Analyst. This position provides support to the Director of Finance. The individual will assist with both accounting and finance. Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to external customers as assigned. Assist with requests for cost reports, budgets, projections, analysis, communications with customers, reconciliations, and refunding applications.
- Perform general ledger transactions, monthly revenue and corresponding receivable/payable for cost-reimbursement contracts as assigned. Prepare adjustments and journal entries where necessary.
- Assist with monthly and/or quarterly budget and expense analysis of assigned contracts and present results to Reporting & Analysis Manager, Program Staff, and other management as requested.
- Assist in the monitoring and implementation of the agency’s Cost Allocation Plan. Assist in the process for gathering and updating information to update cost allocations (i.e. update distribution codes).
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree with major in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Experience: 3 or more years of work experience in Accounting or Finance specifically with the preparation of financial statements.
- Technology Skills: Strong computer skills, including intermediate knowledge of Excel and Word, desired; working knowledge of all other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, etc.) a plus. Extensive experience with computerized accounting system; working knowledge of SAGE (previously MIP) 100 Fund Accounting a plus.
- Communication/Customer Service Skills: Strong and effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to interface with others in an effective, open and tactful manner. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative, and diplomatic working relationships with colleagues, supervisor and external contacts.
