The Director of Finance is a key contributor in leading a dynamic financial organization dedicated to financial integrity and focused on supporting the Company’s growth strategy.
They will be responsible for financial reporting, accounting operations, financial systems, and controls, including but not limited to SEC, auditing firms, tax preparers, and asset managers.PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONSLead the accounting operations team, ensuring high performance and fostering individual and team developmentResponsible for supporting and enhancing a collaborative, innovative, and financially disciplined organizationEnsure the finance organization delivers timely financials in accordance with GAAPEnsure the Company has adequate, documented internal controls for SOX complianceEffectively manage tax compliance, financial operations, payroll, purchasing, and treasuryLead the FP& A function through budgeting, close, and long-range planning processesParticipate in partnership/acquisition activities, as applicableDrive continuous improvement of processes and systemsSupport the CFO in managing key stakeholders, including investors, executive management, Board of Directors, external auditors, investment bankers, and sell-side research analystsBS / BA in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferredCPA requiredMinimum of 12 years of progressive leadership in life-science accounting and finance, including 5+ years in public accountingExperience with commercial(izing) life sciences, inventory management, and cost-of-products sold is requiredExperience with product revenue and gross-to-net accountingStrong financial (IT) systems experience, including ERP implementation and managementNetSuite, ActiveDisclosure, Bill.Com, and Shareworks experience preferredExperience with SEC compliance issues of a public companySignificant experience with partnership/acquisition accountingExperience managing the financial operations and reporting of a biopharma company through drug launch and exposure to bio/pharma revenue recognition issues is strongly desiredDetailed knowledge of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, including Section 404, and an ability to drive the Company’s compliance with all relevant accounting and certification requirementsStrong technical acumen and well versed in U.S.
