Accounting Manager (4-10 years exp)

Small/dynamic pharmaceutical and drug development company, CardioVax, a portfolio company of a private equity fund, Glenbarr Partners, both located in Los Angeles (Century City), is seeking an enthusiastic, skilled candidate to handle all aspects of accounting for the portfolio company, primary fund management company, and fund partnership.

The position reports directly to the Chairman of CardioVax.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, hands-on and able to carry out work to completion.

Other criteria and responsibilities include:

Job Description
Developing and improving current systems of internal reporting and control.
Providing a high level of accounting support and business analysis.
Solid understanding of GAAP.
Solid understanding of accounting for Limited Liability Companies and allocation of partner interests.
Maintain accurate accounting of Intercompany Transactions including management fees.
Payroll management and processing.
Managing and overseeing of routine tasks around Accounts payable, Accounts receivable and Journal Entries
General Bookkeeping functions including: Managing bank activity, Reconciliations, Purchase Order tracking, intercompany billing and expense reports.
Generate monthly reports for management
Coordinate and provide all support for annual financial audit
Work with outside CPA firm to file tax returns for several entities, providing all necessary supporting documentation and analysis, including investor capital account roll-forwards
Issue 1099s at year end
Oversee relationships with all product and system vendors.
Maintain corporate documents including the Operating Agreements and investor files
Special projects as needed
Ad hoc tasks and responsibilities including system implementation as required
Desired Skills and Expertise
Degree/experience in Accounting
Experience with Quickbooks (is a must)
5+ years of accounting experience, CPA a plus
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (is a must)
Beneficial but not required: familiarity with ADP payroll processing and HR issues.
Has worked in a small business environment a plus
Self-starter, good communication, pays significant attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills
