Newmark seeks a talented professional with deep experience in the commercial real estate industry to manage its West Research operations.
This senior-level position will work closely with brokers to address their research needs and formulate appropriate solutions.
This position also works with the market leaders regarding all initiatives and issues related to research services.
The role can be located either in Newmark’s West Coast offices w/ preference to San Francisco, San Jose or Los Angeles offices, but handle regional research functions including client-facing meetings as well as interactions with senior-level management and executives at Newmark.
The position will support all aspects of the department, including production of market statistics, market analysis, production of reports, and beyond.
Essential Job Duties:
- Business Development
- Works with Market Leaders on strategies for targeting new sources of business and fostering existing and potential relationships.
- Will take a lead role in strategic market overview & forecast presentations critical to new business development, particularly for capital markets and agency leasing institutional clients.
- Cooperate and communicate with other directors of research to share best practices and implement new best practices within your offices.
- Thought Leadership
- Expand the focus of our research efforts from statistical reporting to interpretation, analysis and forecasting.
- Will identify trends and author white papers, case studies and infographics for use by our agents and potential press releases.
- Will take an active role in working with brokers/sales staff to develop client-oriented interpretations and analysis of current and future market trends.
- Ensure Best-In-Class research services for brokerage and other service lines
- Public Speaking / Media Relations –
- Participate in events organized by trades or publications, either as a panelist, keynote or moderator (ULI, NAIOP, CREW, Corenet, BizJournals, Connect Media, Bisnow, etc)
- Become the public face of our research with media interviews targeting key publications
- Focus research efforts on overall company brand and client perception
Skills, Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, economics, or a closely related field
- Minimum 10+ year’s professional management experience in real estate analysis, market research or related field
- Ability to identify trends and develop industry reports
- Project and staff management experience
- Very strong analytical, writing, and communication skills
- Very strong people and presentation skills
- Strong media relations skills
- Extensive database and systems management experience
- Superior skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Proficiency in other MS Office programs
- Experience with CoStar, Real Capital Analytics, Reonomy, Trepp
