Key responsibilities

The Terminal Modernization Engineer is responsible to deliver and support the Industrial application, integration & infrastructure environments that operate and supports our container terminal modernization technologies.

He/she will also be responsible to execute, monitor and provide feedback on the Global Modernization development strategy to improve efficiency, facilitate operations and achieve customer satisfaction.

• Analyze and troubleshoot problem reports related to automated machinery to identify issues and escalate to accountable parties and vendors.

Follow all issues through to resolution.

• Develop deep expertise in the deployed modernization solution in order to design and recommend improvements to performance and reliability.

• Utilize understanding of wired and wireless networking and time-sensitive protocols (e.g.

profinet) to identify and escalate issues affecting perimeter and on-board safety systems.

• Ensure that control system componentry: devices, configurations and integrations are documented and change control processes followed to insure system integrity.

• Work closely with operations staff, IT staff, software and hardware vendors to continually improve system performance and reliability to achieve business objectives.

• Educate and train IT staff in incident response and diagnostics to ensure necessary skill sets are available at high functioning levels at all times.

• Develop metrics and dashboard reporting system that visualizes overall system health and early warning indicators.

• Using data, predictive analytics and emulation, work with Operations and modernization Manager to develop continuous improvement strategies and recommendations.

We are looking for

• Education: BS in Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, Electrical or modernization Engineering, or related field.

• 5+ years of technical delivery of industrial modernization/operational technology solutions in a fast paced, demanding environment.

• 3+ years of experience supporting a 24X7 technical support team delivering continuously available and interconnected machinery to a production or manufacturing organization.

• Technical expertise of wired and wireless Industrial networking technologies, controls systems and machine to machine interface integration.

• Experience with Programmable Logic Controlers (PLCs), Siemens experience preferred.

• Demonstrated ability in vendor management, incident management and resolution/troubleshooting complex and integrated environments.

• Agility – Strategic mindset with ability to provide deliverables and build strong working relationships with stakeholders.

Ability to make changes rapidly and can adapt to regularly shifting priorities.

Ability to contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.

• Direct, hands on experience with Industrial modernization and control system software and system integration.

This includes integration at all levels of the ISA-95 model.

• Machine validation experience including creation and execution of test cases.

• Strong technical and troubleshooting skills in an automated machinery environment.

• Ability to work within a matrix-based organization with direct and dotted line reporting
