Job Summary: This position will closely work with Information Technology and other agency staff to provide informatics expertise and knowledge to MEDSIS and identify agency needs for informatics, reporting, and data analysis to assist with business and policy decisions.
This position will work with other agency staff to determine business requirements for system enhancements and work to research business issues and help design solutions.
This position will work with Information Technology staff to create queries and reports that are needed for other agency staff and help provide training for informatics solutions.
This position will work with the various informatics programs to assist with any testing of new system updates and enhancements and will help maintain system resources and data dictionaries as needed, including the MEDSIS Help Desk.
Job Duties:
– Determine and analyze queries and reports needed by informatics staff and other agency staff.
– Partners with informatics staff and other agency staff to gather and validate business requirements.
– Participates in and/or supports work planning processes.
– Researches business issues and assists in designing models that aid in analyzing issues.

Selective Preference(s):
– Bachelors in Bioinformatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Biology/Biological Sciences, Public Health or related field.
– Combination of experience, education, and training that meets the knowledge, skills, and abilities as described.

– 6 years of relevant experience required.
1 year of work experience may be substituted for each year of preferred education.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
– Employees who drive on state business require possession of and the ability to retain a current, valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment.
Employees who drive on state business are subject to driver’s license checks, must maintain acceptable driving records and must complete any driver training (See Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.11).
– Must possess a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issues pursuant to A.R.S.
36-113.
