Director, Supply Chain – Accessories

The Director, Supply Chain – Accessories will be responsible for the supplier relationship management, new supplier development, sourcing management, inventory oversight, and demand/supply planning.

As a leader in the FMIC Supply Chain team, this role is responsible for the analysis of our demand trends, day to day inventory management, setting priorities, driving process improvements, and establishing goals focused on improving FMIC’s responsiveness to customer demands.

The role will lead the Supply Chain activities of one our fastest growing categories and be partnered with the accessory’s product line and sales management.

About the Job:

Day to day responsibility of global inventory management and setting and monitoring of strategic inventory positions
Constantly monitors service, inventory, forecast accuracy & bias metrics and works to maintain or improve service levels to reach best in industry levels
Supplier relationship management and new supplier development
Strategic sourcing management responsible for evaluating the production and manufacturing processes and developing initiatives to improve operations and purchasing techniques.

Negotiate contracts with suppliers and vendors for high quality resources and cost-efficient materials
Management oversight of global demand inputs and direct management of supply planning and sourcing manager
Ensure the Monthly Supply Review meeting is conducted, which includes Factory and supplier level supply reviews, as a direct input into the SIOP
Master Scheduling relationship with factories and suppliers to drive efficiencies and optimization of production schedule to balance finished good inventory and costs
Total responsibility for service levels to the customers and drives service improvement initiatives
Take an active role in identifying annual process improvement opportunities within Supply and inventory planning
Interface with all functional groups in the global regions.

Will need to be able to influence and build strong relationships with people in all areas of the organization including Manufacturing Management, Sales Operations, Product Management and Finance to be highly successful in this role
Develop weekly finished goods plans in Logility / SAP per net demand requirements to support finished good production
Manage supplier or factory execution to Purchase Order requested delivery date / quantity
Analyze mid
– to long-term capacity constraints and provide recommendations to proactively resolve constraints.

Quantify business unit decisions as it relates to inventory goals, budgets and projected service impact
Proactively communicate when availability issues arise that will impact order fulfillment
Maintain and ensure data accuracy of planning system.

Determine optimized order quantities, safety stock parameters and production frequencies
Collaborate with Sourcing department to ensure appropriate lead times, and minimum order quantities are in effect
Steer overall Finished Good inventory for all product lines to meet inventory and service goals.

Owns overarching excess and obsolete process and drives action and accountability with supporting functions to minimize financial exposure.

What You Need:

7+ years of experience in a Supply Chain leadership role
Strategic sourcing experience, ideally in the music industry
Deep knowledge of music industry accessories or like industries
Demonstrated ability to understand key business processes and interdependency with supply chain improvement plans.

Solid business acumen
Able to leverage own efforts through effective involvement of individuals and resources, both inside and outside the immediate organization
Good ability to identify and adapt best practices from inside and outside the organization.

Good external focus to stay “plugged in” to trends and developments within the industry
Motivation to push projects through to solution and implementation to deliver solid business results; cognizant of time and budget constraints.

Demonstrated ability to influence diverse groups and pull them together to achieve a common goal
Demonstrated ability to drive projects to completion and proven Project Management Skills
Self-driven and must require only minimum management or monitoring
Ability to multitask and deal with ambiguity is necessary for this candidate to be successful
Solid computer skills necessary.

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
Certification in APICS preferred
