Under the direction of the Director, Editorial Content , this position is a critical role, responsible for developing and implementing the full range of influential patient communication products with a special emphasis on quality measures, marketing needs and organizational objectives.
Effective coordination of all programmatic elements as determined by the department needs and objectives.
Se rves as the liaison between the Communications Department, internal and external customers.
Develops and implements a comprehensive communications program with specific strategies and action plans to effectively communicate with and influence the health and well-being of AltaMed patients across all lines of business.
In conjunction with key functional areas, research, gather content, write, review, edit and produce communications for all patient vehicles including print and electronic newsletter, patient portal, letters, flyers, telephone scripts and more.
Supports AltaMed leadership and marketing staff in community relations programs, town halls and events by writing scripts, coordinating logistics, technology, presentations, as well as managing materials and external vendor resources.
Create strategic communication plans and measure communication effectiveness, gather feedback, report findings and conclusions and prepare action plans.
Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned staff; prioritize and schedule assignments.
Manage the Patient Communications Specialist by providing guidance, training and ensuring all projects and responsibilities assigned are understood, implemented and completed.
Serve as a proofreader/editor for all department materials.
Coordinates with other departments the preparation for press conferences, special meetings, and events.
Analyze, trend and evaluate data in order to present a summary analysis.
Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree preferably in journalism, public relations, communications, public policy, marketing or related field required.
Master’s degree in one of the stated areas preferred.
Minimum of five years of communications experience in healthcare, not-for-profit or related field required.
Meeting and or event planning skills strongly preferred.
Ability to inspire, motivate and lead cross-functional teams; able to win support of peers, seniors and juniors for projects.
Experience managing internal staff in a collaborative environment.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) demonstrated skills in both oral and written communications highly desirable.
