If you are caring, compassionate, committed, and have experience working with children or teens, we would like to invite you to join us.THE BENEFITS & WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY:Flexible Schedule: Together, we will tailor a schedule that works for you.Work Close to Home: You will be serving clients in your own community.Part-time: Work up to 20-25 hours a week.Building a Career: Excellent experience working toward your career interest.Feel Supported: Supportive and friendly office staff.On-the job Training: Opportunities for specific trainingMake a difference: Help enhance the lives of those caring for a loved one with special needs.REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma/GEDOr at least two years of experience working with children or adults with disabilities (Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or related developmental disabilities) or an equivalent combination of education and experienceReliable transportation, valid driver’s license, current liability insurance for the vehicle, and a clean driving record.Valid CPR/First Aid certification and ability to meet health requirements (TB-tuberculosis test) as per company policy required – Can acquire if an employment offer is made.DOJ fingerprint clearance (Live Scan)RESPONSIBILITIES:Initiates age-appropriate activities for the client such as engaging in arts and crafts or going for a walk around the neighborhood.Assists clients with daily living activities, daily routines, homework, and self-help skills (brushing teeth, getting dressed, and washing hands).Builds positive relationships with family and clients.Remains calm under pressure.Collaborates with clients and families for best care opportunities.Ensures that all activities completed with the client are put away at the end of the visit.Reports all forms of abuse, suspected abuse, or potentially unsafe conditions.Adheres and ensures the confidentiality of client and agency information according to HIPAA Privacy Rules.

Properly safeguarding and protecting the improper disclosure of health information that either identifies a client or can be reasonably used to ascertain the client’s identity.Follows guidelines and directions established by the office, family, and client while in the home unless there is a safety issue.Provides for the safety and constant supervision of clients.Respects the client’s and family’s privacy and property.Contacts the office on a regular basis regarding availability, respite requests, concerns, etc.Submits required paperwork/documentation in a complete and timely manner.Participates in training, meetings, and ongoing professional development classes.Maintains regular, reliable attendance and punctuality.Adheres to all company policies, procedures, standards, and safety rules.Knowledge/ Skills/ AbilitiesGeneral: Comfortable working in homes of families; manage competing demands; changes approach or method to best fit the situation; reacts well under pressure; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.Communication: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.Reasoning: Ability to work independently and effectively; ability to make decisions in difficult situations; ability to respect family lifestyle and choices; does not impose personal judgments and expectations on families/individuals; ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out details by uninvolved written or oral instructionsMathematical: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.Computer: Ability to use a computer and/or smartphone for email communications and/ or Willingness to learn.Physical demands: While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is constantly (67-100%) required to talk, hear, sit, stand and walk.

The employee is frequently (34-66%) required to use hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, push, pull, lift or carry and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is occasionally (3-33%) required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Vision: Ability to see at close range (20 inches or less), at a distance (clear vision at 20 feet or more), ability to identify and distinguish colors, ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships, and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.Work Environment: The position entails traveling to clients’ homes.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to a variety of home environments that may be unpredictable.
