Aerojet Rocketdyne: Specialist Business Development Analyst

Overview:The Senior Specialist, Business Development – National Security Space & Advanced Programs is responsible for supporting business development of Aerojet Rocketdyne (AR) Space Business Unit activities and products associated with National Security Space Launch, Advanced Programs, and Small/Medium Commercial Launch customers and stakeholders.These products include AR’s Liquid Boost and Upper Stage Engine programs as well as AR’s Advanced Propulsion and Technology programs.

This role will interface closely with our customers including Space Systems Command, Air Force Research Lab, Defense Innovation Unit, Space Rapid Capability Office, prime contractors, and other Government customers.Specific responsibilities will include planning, coordinating, directing, and executing all business development related activities associated with the relevant business areas to include customer engagements, proposal development, competitive assessments, capture strategy development and execution, budget creation/management/oversight, conferences, and local events.

This position involves significant customer engagements to identify areas of opportunity and develop these opportunities into winning Aerojet Rocketdyne offers.In addition, this position will require a highly collaborative and proactive individual to engage with internal stakeholders across multiple Space Program Sectors, located across multiple US sites, to ensure connectivity throughout the Business Unit.

In this role, you will also foster ethical conduct, practices, and personal integrity throughout Aerojet Rocketdyne to ensure the company’s ability to attract and retain customers in a highly competitive environment.This role will be located at our Canoga Park, CA site.This position can be filled at this level or one level higher.Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):30% Serve as the primary business development focal for AR Space Business Unit activities with National Security Space, Advanced Programs, and Small/Medium Commercial Launch customers with its liquid engine programs.

Meet and interface with senior level National Security Space and prime contractor executives, particularly with Space Systems Command, Air Force Research Lab, and Defense Innovation Unit.

Participate in technical meetings for internal and external representatives concerning organizational projects.

Represent Aerojet Rocketdyne interests in meetings, conferences, and workshops.20% Provide leadership, oversight, development, and execution of business strategies for new products and technologies.

Be responsible for marketing new technology or follow-on business acquisition.

Responsible for creating strategic plan inputs and managing tasks of strategic importance to the product area.

Approve annual business plan, program budget, and schedules.20% Oversee internally funded discretionary programs, particularly Internal Research and Development (IR& D) and new business funds.20% Direct and manage externally funded advanced programs and support development of Aerojet Rocketdyne Technology Roadmap and other internal executive level plans.10% Interface with Aerojet Rocketdyne senior-level management.Requirements:This is a senior-level position requiring a Bachelor’s degree in a related technical or business field and at least ten (10) years of experience in managing a successful business development function or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

An advanced degree is preferred.Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.

Position may require the ability to satisfy enhanced personnel security requirements.

Must be able to satisfy federal government requirements for access to government information.

Having dual citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this requirement.Additional Requirements/Qualifications:Technical and business development experience in boost and upper stage engines for launch and propulsion products and technologies for national security space and small/medium commercial launch.Experience in an Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment with program diversity ranging from complex development to rate production.Experience in business development, capture strategy, and proposal development activities.Ability to direct and control overall organizational resources.Considerable initiative and organizational skills.Ability to drive convergence and resolution to challenges of substantial importance to the Company.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 is a condition of employment at Aerojet Rocketdyne.
