Technical Service Manager Department: Technical Services Reports To: Divisional Food Safety/ Safety ManagerFLSA Status: Salary Exempt Positions Supervised: NoneWork Schedule: Varies Location: United StatesJob Status: Full Time Amount of Travel Required: 75% POSITION SUMMARY 1 This position is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Food Safety & Safety programs within multiple USDA and FDA facilities across a geographic area while effectively promoting the mission and values of Packers Sanitation Services, Inc.

Reasonable Accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Establish and maintain relationships within facilities by working cooperatively with PSSI employees, facility personnel, and regulatory agencies.

Creating, implementing, and maintaining all Food Safety and Safety policies, procedures, and documents to ensure audit readiness at all times.

Support facility and local PSSI team by playing an active role in third-party audits and assessments by regulatory agencies.Uphold service standards by conducting routine facility visits and performing internal assessments to verify adherence to policies and procedures.Verify compliance to all internal, customer, third-party auditing, and regulatory requirements including but not limited to EEOC, OSHA, FDA, Homeland Security, EPA and USDA.Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures.Actively participate in the development and execution of action plans within each facility.Raise the profile of food safety and safety by conducting on-going training at each facility to ensure each are imbedded in the culture.Provide technical assistance and support in the handling of escalating issues surrounding food safety and safety.Drive company-wide Food Safety and Safety continuous improvement projects or initiatives within the facility.Support PSSI management teams in meeting goals and objectives surrounding Food Safety and Safety.Plan and coordinate Food Safety and Safety efforts in support of company’s growth by conducting initial Hazard Assessments and Food Safety Assessments while playing an active role in the start-up process of new business.

Tailors communication style and content to the audience.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONSEducation and Experience: Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred or 5+ years in sanitation/food processing industry Computer SkillsRequires strong computer skills associated with Microsoft Office and basic skills required to learn new programsWORK ENVIRONMENTSite environment usually during 2nd or 3rd Shifts which are cold, hold, wet, and dry.
