Buyer

Buyer will be responsible for all materials and finished products for the operation of the organization. The Buyer works within a Product team to support the supply chain needs of the product team. The individual within this role would be accountable to support Distribution, Planning, and Internal/External Customers; through involvement in Distribution activities/KPI/etc. Ensures consistent inventory flow to minimize stock outs and meet or exceed inventory turns. Additional duties as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Material Planning
Understand procurement principles necessary to purchase materials via MRP.
Review and interpret reports to determine supply requirements
Issue and maintain purchase orders timely and ffectively
Manage vendor returns process and collaborates with supplier quality
Understands basic SC concepts (ex. MOQ, QOH, QOD, QOO, Material Variances,)
Manage/track expedites
Identify PPV and opportunities for cost-reduction
Coordinate material flow with production requirements
Ensures raw materials conform to purchase order specifications.
Represents the Purchasing group while supporting new product development
Ensures ECNs are implemented accordingly.
Communicates any deviation for requested deliveries with internal customers
Ensure proper disposition of SLOB
Act as the intermediary in vendor quality and performance issues
Recognize demand patterns
Vendor Management
Create coherent and effective reports
Discover, create and provide data for analysis
Provides updates and follow up information supporting material requirements
Support production requirements
Able to effectively and efficiently utilize Supply Chain analytical tools
The evaluation, sourcing, and development of the supply base to support business growth
Leads suppliers through the resolution of discrepancies or schedule delays, including corrective and preventive actions and recovery plans

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 5 years of purchasing excellence 
Computer skills such as Email, MS Office, and MS Projects specifically Excel. Extensive knowledge of MRP and ERP software/systems 
APICS certification highly desired

EXPERIENCE: 
AA degree in Supply Chain Management, Materials Manager, Engineering, Business or related field from an accredited college or university
