Job Summary:The Sentry Post secures an assigned dedicated account on behalf of ACS Security.Essential duties and responsibilities:Controls access to client site or facility by following authorized admittance processes and enforcing regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premisesMonitors entrances and exits, the movement of people and vehicles and parking, and acts to prevent unapproved or unlawful entry and enforce parking regulationsMonitors and patrols client site to prevent theft, violence and maintain general security at the locationPeriodically examines doors, windows, and gates for security or gate functionalityMaintains Daily Activity Reports, incident reports, accident reports, and prepares logs as requiredMaintains professional communication with clients, patrons, and general publicResponds to emergency calls including alarm activations, medical, fire, and property damageResponds to reasonable non-emergency calls and security-related requestsRemains alert and vigilant while on dutyRequests emergency personnel for high-risk situationsExperience and Requirements:Previous experience in Security, Law Enforcement, or other related fields a plus but not requiredValid California Guard CardPepper spray and Baton permit preferredJob Competencies:Ability to function as a member in a team-based environmentProficient verbal communication skills when interacting with clients, emergency services, community members, and team membersProficient written communication, documentation, and report writing skillsAbility to maintain a professional demeanor/appearance while interacting with clients and the general public, including meeting uniform standardsStrong problem solving, attention to detail, and organizational skillsAbility to use software and applications on a phone to access and input informationAbility to handle emergency situations calmly and efficientlyAbility to follow strict written and verbal communications and rulesDedication to high-quality customer service deliveryBasic math skillsMust be able to meet deadlinesMust conduct all work with a high level of integrity and trust, upholding the companys ethical and professional standardsAbility to adapt to a dynamic work environmentPhysical Requirements:Sit for long periods of time, stand, and walk as required (work is performed in a vehicle or an indoor guard post for majority of shift (95%)Climb and ascend stairs, bend and stoop as requiredHear sounds at normal speaking levels, in person, and on the phoneSpeak including expressing and exchanging information, in person and on the phonePerform duties such as reading and preparing written documents, viewing security monitors and information on a phoneStrong hand/eye coordinationConstant use of both hands and arms in reaching/handling/grasping items, using a phone, writing notes, texting/ typing on a phone, and other administrative tasksConstant mental alertness and attention to detail while workingOccasionally lift, carry and/or move items weighing up to forty(40) poundsExperience/EducationHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)BSIS guard card required training includes:Required at time of hire:Powers to Arrest (4 hours)Weapons of Mass Destruction (4 hours)Public Relations (4 hours)Observation and Documentation (4 hours)Communication and its Significance (4 hours)Liability / Legal Aspects (4 hours)Officer Safety (4 hours)Elective courses are also includedEight (8) hours of continuing training must be completed annually, including safety training.
