IT Technician – DVR

Goodwill seeks an experienced DVR & Low Voltage Technician to provide onsite and remote technical support to the Goodwill’s DVR equipment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Installs and mounts surveillance cameras and digital video recorders (DVR) indoors and outdoors.
  • Services and maintains surveillance cameras and DVR systems both indoors and outdoors at various Company worksites.
  • Installs security system cable.
  • Pulls, routes, and terminates CAT-5 cables.
  • Serves as point-of-contact in the event footage recorded on one of the Company’s DVR devices needs to be reviewed.
  • Works with Supervisor to maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all Company DVR devices.
  • Troubleshoots DVR-specific work orders as needed.
  • Makes DVR equipment purchasing recommendations to IT Leadership.
  • Communicates to IT Management about problematic equipment or locations.
  • Assists in on-call night and weekend support rotation
  • Assists in new location buildouts and moves.
  • Supports, tests and repairs desktops, laptops and POS registers including monitors, keyboards, printers, software applications and all other computer related accessories.
  • Supports, tests and repairs telephone systems and telephone lines.
  • Supports, tests and repairs the Company’s data and voice infrastructure.
  • Assists in answering and logging IT Help Desk phone calls in a tact and polite manner meeting the needs of the caller.
  • Monitors IT Help Desk work order tracking system and resolves assigned work orders in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of technical troubleshooting experience
  • 1-2 years DVR and/or CCTV service and installation experience preferred.
  • 1-2 years experience working with cabling/low voltage
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Possesses a valid driver’s license and state-required auto insurance.
  • Required to travel extensively, over 50% of the time.
  • Shift flexibility and overtime when needed.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Punctual and dependable attendance.
  • Free from alcohol and drug abuse.
  • Understands the basic philosophy of Goodwill and participates fully in carrying out its mission.

  • Intermediate knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel and E-mail; Internet software – familiar with internet applications and browsers; Spreadsheet software; TrackIT
