Job Description

Applicants must attend or have attended a college or university as an undergrad, graduate or post-doctoral student.
Recent graduates must have graduated within 24 months of the program date; for veterans, within 72 months of the program date.
Upcoming graduates must be on track to graduate by June 2022.
IT Specialist: There are three variants of this position, as listed below.

IT Specialist-Forensic Examiner (ITS-FE): ITS-FEs are exposed to a new world of information technology and have the chance to work on unique investigations with partners across the United States.
ITS-FEs use their technical capabilities scientifically by applying rigor and process to the evaluation, preservation and collection of digital evidence.
You will be part of an elite group of technical experts and have the opportunity to work not only on FBI investigations, but those of our partners as well.
A bachelor’s degree is required for this position with a combined 24 hours in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management.
This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices, as well as Headquarters’ divisions.
IT Specialist (ITS-General): IT Specialists are a critical resource on technology and information and configure, analyze, adapt and develop new processes and systems to ensure the FBI’s technical capabilities continue to improve.
A bachelor’s degree is required for this position with a combined 24 hours in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management.
This position serves only in Headquarters’ divisions.
IT Specialist (System Administration/Customer Support) (ITS-SA/CS): In this role, you will provide technical support to Field Office personnel and analyze, troubleshoot and provide direct assistance to the resolution of technical issues.
You will also work to ensure the availability of technical services and systems, playing a key role in maintaining overall operational efficiency.
A bachelor’s degree is required for this position with a combined 24 hours in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics or technology management.
This position serves throughout the 56 Field Offices.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Be a U.S.
citizen.
Have a graduating GPA of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Be able to obtain a Top Secret Clearance.
Pass an FBI polygraph examination.
Pass an FBI-administered urinalysis drug test and be in compliance with the FBI Employment Drug Policy:
No use of marijuana within the last year.
No use of any other illegal drug in the past 10 years.
No selling, distributing, manufacturing or transporting of any illegal drugs.
No use of a prescription drug or a legally obtainable substance in a manner for which it was not intended within the last three years.
In addition, you must:
Never have been convicted of a felony.
Not be in default on a student loan insured by the U.S.
government.
Be registered with the Selective Service System (males only, exceptions apply).
