– Friday (7:30am-4:00pm)Benefits: Medical, Vision, Dental, Life Insurance, 403(b) Retirement planSUMMARYUnder the supervision of the Director, the Senior Clinician will provide support to the C3 Multidisciplinary Outreach teams including case consultation, supervision, assessment, and training.
The Senior Clinician will provide oversight and supervision to Master’s and Bachelor’s level student interns, as well as a case managers.
The Senior Clinician will create and run the psychotherapy process groups at the C3 Center where outreach clients can access care, and will have the opportunity to take on a small caseload of therapy clients.
The selected candidate will also be responsible for administrative oversight of both students and case managers they supervise, ensuring they are meeting data and referral requirements and fostering professional growth.The C3 Outreach Program is part of a large-scale street-based engagement effort in the Metro Los Angeles Area (Service Area 4).
The goal of C3 is to create a countywide network of multidisciplinary, integrated street-based teams to identify, engage, and connect, or re-connect homeless individuals to interim and/or permanent housing, supportive services, and life-saving care.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* Provide clinical consultation to four interdisciplinary teams which include medical, psychiatry, and case management to engage and provide services to the most vulnerable homeless individuals.* Provide oversight and supervision to Master’s and Bachelor’s level student interns, as well as a case managers on the C3 teams.* Respond to field-based assessment needs, psychiatric emergencies, and provide clinical guidance to staff.* Ensure that client services emphasize the highest standards of trauma informed care, client safety, and harm reduction interventions.* Train and support staff to remove barriers to permanent housing; e.g., acquisition of identification, legal aid, benefits assistance, life skills acquisition.* Create a format for, and facilitate biweekly case conferences for each team.* Ensure students and staff submit quality documentation and referrals in a timely manner to adhere to required outcome measures.* Review and approve CHAMP interim referrals and Housing Authority applications for outreach staff.* Create and facilitate a schedule of developmentally appropriate psychotherapy process groups for C3 clients.* Carry a caseload of up to 8 therapy clients.* Provide field-based training to students and staff on policies and procedures, clinical, and administrative topics to prepare them to deliver a high standard of clinical care to individuals living with severe mental illness, severe medical disorders, and high-risk substance use disorders.* Provide, coordinate, and implement mental health and recovery support services with individuals connect to the C3 teams* Develop effective, trusting relationships with clients , with a focus on facilitating independence and maintenance of improved physical and mental healthQUALIFICATIONS* Licensed Clinician, or ability to obtain licensure within three months (LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC)* Certified in Field Instruction, or willingness to obtain this.* LPS designated, or ability to obtain this.* Experience working in the Skid Row community* Strong clinical assessment and crisis management skills and a passion for working in fast-paced, unpredictable clinical settings.* Experience doing clinical work with those living with co-occurring disorders (serious mental illness and chaotic substance use) and/or experiencing homelessness.* Passion for training and supporting others in developing trauma-informed, harm reduction skills in clinical work.* Detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, interpersonal, and computer skills.* Able to obtain and maintain CPR/1st Aid certificationEnvironment and ResponsibilitiesWork Environment* Office environment with occasional field activities with Wellness participants and staff* Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 35 pounds* May be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor* May need to bend, stoop, twist, and sit throughout the dayResponsibilities Common To All Agency Employees* Maintain a safe work environment and confidentiality at all times* Be proactive, creative, and flexible in determining, evaluating, researching, and resolving issues* Organize and prioritize multiple activities to meet all external and internal deadlines* Maintain professional demeanor that reflects positively on the agency* Demonstrate respect and courtesy toward others* Able to thrive in a work environment emphasizing teamwork and collaboration* Respond promptly in all aspects of communication* Work with minimum supervision* Perform other duties as assignedThe People Concern is an equal opportunity employer dedicated to non-discrimination in employment.
