Robert Half Direct is partnering with an established company in the consumer goods industry seeking a Payroll Manager to join the team at their corporate office.

If you have experience with leading day-to-day payroll operations, managing a team, and payroll processing experience for 1000+ employees, then this may be the position for you.

Responsibilities:
Reports to Payroll Director and supervises a team of full-time direct reports Prepare and process timely and accurate payroll for the company for more than 27 pay groups; ensuring 3,500+ employees are paid timely, accurately and in compliance with state laws and company policies Process and balance payrolls, ensuring all compliance reports are prepared and fully reconciled, garnishments, funding requirements for the payroll, 401(k), and generating standard and ad hoc reports Run weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly reports for multiple business units and multiple departments Ensure the processing of all withholding tax issues including quarterly and annual balancing and audits Assure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state and local taxes in various states where the company has employees Research on inquires for payroll, accounting and HR questions and reply to employees, HR and management in a professional and timely manner Perform and complete Quarterly and Year-End duties and for accurate reporting Make recommendations to the Payroll Director and team to help strengthen departmental controls, processes and systems Maintain the highest standards of accuracy, precision, discretion, and confidentiality Commit to the successful achievement of team and organizational goals through a desire to participate with and help other members of the team
Job Requirements:
5+ years Payroll experience in a multi-national company, primarily in the U.S.

and Canada, with a diverse exempt and non-exempt employee population; 2+ years supervisory experience Solid proficiency of ADP Vantage Payroll and Ultimate (UltiPro) Software Advanced knowledge of PC applications principally Excel and other Microsoft Office products Understand state, federal and international payroll and payroll tax laws Multi-state payroll experience required; knowledge of Canadian payroll processing preferred Ability to work independently with strong time management and organization skills, ensuring all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely every payroll cycle Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to facilitate clear and concise communication with a high level of professionalism Demonstrated focus on listening to and understanding internal customers Proven capability to execute with a sense of urgency, accuracy and partnership Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
