Experience should include hardware hands-on experience, requirements management, systems integration, verification and validation testing, establishment of a new production line to support the transition of an engineering prototype into a production system.You will be a key contributor in a dynamic system engineering team on a new high-profile program developing the next generation of airborne advanced Electro-Optical systems including imagers, passive/active EO tracking, LIDAR, and directed energy systems.

The IPTL will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team through planning, execution, procurement, supporting an engineering build, collaboration with operations and manufacturing team, integration, verification and validation testing to support delivery of a new Advanced EO/IR Pod Sensor System.

Additionally the IPTL will generate IPT status and reporting to the program Chief Engineer and Program Manager, coordinate handoffs of subsystem and system level activities, manage budgets and act as the Cost Account Manager (CAM), and provide overall technical oversight and direction of the Integration and Test team.*** Position may be filled in El Segundo, CA or McKinney, TX ***Required Skills:Minimum 10 years of systems engineering experience to include airborne EOIR system test, integration verification and validation testing, product transition to production.Demonstrated airborne EO/IR hardware design and/or systems engineering experience in development and production program.Experience with requirements development, analysis, derivations, verification and validation.Experience working within a structured Systems Engineering process environment including a task-oriented, value-based management system; some IPTL or related experience is helpful.Requires prior engineering team leadership experience, ideally to include systems / IV& V activities.Ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams of program management and system design professionals including electrical, mechanical, software and logistics engineers.Requires excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) and be able to effectively communicate with IPT leaders, hardware and software development engineers, specialty engineers, program managers, and customers.Experience with detailed IMS planning and leading team through success execution of that planEarned Value Management System (EVMS) experienceExperience with proposal technical and cost estimation efforts.Experience conducting technical supplier management of development subcontractors.An active and in-scope DOD Secret US security clearance is required.Willingness to travel periodically in support of offsite testing along with customer and subcontractor meetingsDesired Skills:Production experience in commercial and/or defense industries; production support, troubleshooting, and factory improvement initiatives; knowledge of transitionto production programs in the EO/IR domain; developing and executing factory test plans, procedures, and equipment to support an EO/IR podded system.Prior experience as an IPTL with demonstrated success in leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams, and in control account management.Specific knowledge and prior experience with image processing electronics, optics, and cooled focal plane array integration, IR sensors, tracking, detection, optical signal processing, and radiometric sensitivity modeling; developing alignment and calibration of EO/IR sensing systems.Experience with Model Based System Engineering Tools (DOORS Next Gen, Cameo)Agile/Scrum program experienceRequired Education:Bachelor’s Degree in a related STEM discipline, such as ME, EE, AE, Math, Physics, Optics, or related.Desired Education:M.S.
