The role will lead the delivery of the compliance and reporting processes for the Consumer Healthcare business in NA.
It will include liaison with the Group Accounting and Tax teams and will co-ordinate the outsourced provider who lead the preparation of the provisions and tax returns for North America.
This role will also work closely with GSK’s Global Tax team in developing the group’s tax strategy and seeking to manage the group’s ETR and tax risks.
The role will be a key part of the Groups reporting process.
The candidate will need to be passionate about what they do, with excellent communication skills, as well have a strong accounting and tax technical background to ensure the accurate reporting of a variety of complex transactions.
Given the significance of North America within the Consumer Healthcare business, it is imperative that the role also stays close to the business as it continues to grow and ensures that the tax filings and numbers reported to Group are accurate and timely.
The successful individual should be excited to understand our existing tools and systems, and also keen to drive improvements through the reporting process both by evolving ways of working and exploring new technologies.
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following: Manage all tax compliance functions with respect to GSK’s U.S.
federal and state & local income tax obligations.
This includes managing the outsource provider of tax compliance and tax reporting.
Manage U.S.
tax reporting requirements for U.S.
international tax filings for Consumer Healthcare.
Assist with coordinating all activities related to the provisioning process.
This includes direct interaction with the central tax team, the management of external auditor’s review and overseeing the outsource provider’s preparation.
Analyze and determine the tax implications of federal and state tax law changes, assist in evaluating and implementing tax planning strategies, business transactions and other ad hoc requests.
Manage the responsibility of maintaining and reconciling GSK’s tax accounts, monthly tax journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations for interim as well as year-end reporting.
Assist in tax technical research regarding specific business transactions and other various ad hoc needs.
This includes developing and writing technical memorandums.
Minimize and control risk within the tax reporting & tax compliance functions.
Assist with federal and state tax audits.
Pro-actively seek opportunities to improve upon existing entity structures and tax reliefs wherever possible.
Through group presentations and individual meetings operate as a senior member of the Consumer Healthcare team in educating the wider tax team and the business on transfer pricing strategies, policies and the associated financial risks.
