The Serve Automation team is searching for the best and brightest to join our team of rocket scientists turned food automation engineers. General Manager:

We are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial, and experienced General Manager to join our team and scale with us from our grand opening to the many, many stores ahead. This person will drive all launch workstreams, own day-to-day restaurant operations, oversee restaurant staff and help us scale the operation.

The ideal candidate is somebody that has lived the highs and lows of the restaurant business. They are customer-obsessed, a leader, energetic, and a problem solver. They are an entrepreneur at their core that can elegantly bridge between a technology company and restaurant chain. This person is our “boots on the ground” that can swiftly operationalize new strategies, flag issues, and iterate based on the data. Speed, flexibility, and an optimistic outlook are key.


What You’ll Do:

  • Run the restaurant – owning everything from compliance to customer experience to kitchen operations
  • Hire, train and develop our team, inspiring them to love their jobs and our customers
  • Work cross-functionally to refine & operationalize the grand opening plans
  • Document policies and processes in the launch playbook to enable fast and consistent scaling of the business
  • Partner with the Software Team to advise on feature enhancements for our kitchen technology, customer orders, and loyalty
  • Make data-driven decisions with a focus on growing sales
  • Own the P&L and manage the business to achieve ambitious KPIs
  • Source and implement software tools to improve team efficiency
  • Influence the strategic roadmap by advocating the customer and restaurant staff perspectives

What You’ll Need:

  • Deep experience as a restaurant operator in a fast paced-environment
  • Leadership and an entrepreneurial spirit, we’re building a chain from the ground up!
  • Deep understanding of personnel policies, labor laws, business permitting, and food compliance
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other tools to organize, manage and communicate
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry supplies, operate the machine
  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Driver’s license, comfort and skill driving, and parking trucks
  • Food safety certification

Where You’ll Work:

Our office is located in an industrial park in Hawthorne, CA. We’re about 1.5 miles from the Crenshaw Station on the Green Line in close proximity to a number of aerospace and manufacturing companies including SpaceX and Triumph. We are situated next to Common Space Brewery and LA Aleworks.
