This mechanical design engineer position is for the ISC Supplier Transformation Engineering organization.
Supplier Transformation’s goal is to dual source aerospace products to improve delivery and material cost.
The engineer performs mechanical design of components used in a variety of aerospace product lines including gas turbine engines, power systems, and mechanical systems.
The primary function is to perform validations on airfoil 3D CAD models and 2D drawings.
Additional functions are to create 3D CAD models, revise 2D drawings, perform comparative analysis with 3D scans, create and track drawing changes in Teamcenter, prepare and deliver design reviews, and document work for internal record and for regulatory & customer consumption.
It is important to understand and adhere to design review manuals, act with speed and accuracy for on-time execution, and to apply six sigma thought processes and tools.
Listen to internal customer’s needs and implement ways to improve processes, reduce cycle time, and improve quality of deliverables.
This engineer will act as a lead for special projects and mentor less-experienced engineers.

Experience with aerospace airfoil component design Demonstrate a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Possess a thorough understanding of applicable design review manuals and best practices.
Experienced user of Teamcenter and NX.
Experience with ProE and Catia is a plus.
Experience creating GOM templates and perform comparative analysis with 3D scans and models.
Act as a lead on special projects and initiatives.
Mentor less-experienced engineers.
Learn and engage in the supplier transition process.
Ability to understand issues with legacy models, drawings, and casting tooling and effectively communicate problem and present solutions.
Effectively conduct design reviews and complete action items in timely manner.
Strong organizational skills are needed to help keep track of multiple tasks and priorities.
