Director Brand Marketing and Commercialization

Must have Beauty Industry Experience Job Description Our client is looking for a Director of Brand Marketing and Commercialization to join our marketing team and lead commercial growth and brand building for our star brand and help continue the build-out of our new marketing team.

He / she will own full 360 marketing and P&L management and will work closely with teams in category management, business development, creative, finance and new product development to craft annual business plans that consider all 4 Ps of commercialization to grow our business and create enterprise value.

As an entrepreneurial organization rooted in digital-first experimentation with a marketing department still taking shape and a hot, new omni-channel brand getting interest from local and global retailers, this position represents an exciting opportunity to test, learn and innovate in all aspects of brand building and marketing.

The Ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of consumer targeting, brand building through 360 and 4P marketing, strong financial and sales / retail acumen and a reputation as an innovator in digital marketing and disruptive storytelling.

Development of campaigns that get our brand noticed, by consumers and industry, and create an undeniable “online resume’ of proof that our brand is THE authority in our white space will be a key next step for our brand.

Experience building consumer brands and driving growth for organizations in digital and social-first environments will help form the foundation for experimentation and growth.

And a demonstrated proficiency in analytics and measurement tools that help demonstrate ROI in marketing, both paid and organic, will help sell internally the need for optimal budgets as we scale the business.

This leader will be able to cultivate a brand team environment that supports fast decision making, accountability and ownership across the team.

S/he will be experienced at identifying and developing talent, attracting top talent to an organization, assessing a team, and motivating all to perform at their highest level through empowerment and the motivation of a results-oriented model.

The candidate will report directly to the CMO and will be a key member of our Leadership Team.

Position responsibilities Be the master brand builder and creative leader for the brand Partner with the cross functional teams and CMO to develop the brand’s mid
– to long-term strategic and annual business plans Work with CMO to define scalable organization design, staff at pace with world class talent to achieve business growth objectives, inspire brand team to believe in the vision and reach a common goal Create and execute fully integrated digital-first marketing strategies and campaigns.

Explore and utilize various marketing channels to drive customer acquisition, retention, and engagement Create and execute a leading-edge E-Commerce strategy, working in concert with brick & mortar to optimize brand development and consumer reach Prioritize and manage the P&L and expenses Demonstrate a relentless focus on action and execution, constantly taking initiative and proactively looking for new opportunities to advance our brand and business objectives Develop and cultivate cross-functional relationships with the company and external partners Required experience / skills: Minimum 10 years in business and brand planning Team building and people management in a leadership role Online advertising creation and optimization Campaign development Creative eye for lifestyle branding and storytelling Creative problem solving and business / go-to-market modeling Consumer targeting and research CPG and mass / masstige retail marketing Ecommerce operations and marketing Public relations and influencer marketing Social marketing and channel expansion Retail price modeling ROI and scale up modeling Data Analysis P&L Management Strategic acumen Financial acumen Working with Agencies Desired / helpful experience: Beauty marketing International brand building and expansion Working for an agency Entrepreneurial AND larger corporate experience New product development experience Amazon MBA
