Skillfully trained, they never lose sight of their ultimate reasonability, to create lifelong memories for our guests Essential Functions & Physical Requirements A day in the life of our Laundry Sorters … it demands high levels of energy in order to keep up. They need consistency even though the days are never alike; and creativity to tackle daily adventures. Listing all of the tasks that our Laundry Sorters accomplish would be lengthy but the list below is essential to know. Our Laundry Sorters are responsible for performing such tasks as sorting, classifying, and weighing soiled linen; folding, counting, bundling, and stacking linen and special items during their day. This will include receiving, counting and stacking ironed linen; and filling racks, baskets, or carts with clean linen items. Unloading washed linen items from washer machines and transports washed linens either to the flatwork ironer or to the dryers .Will be loading laundry carts to transport both clean and soiled laundry to/from various location in the hotel all to ensure our guests receives nothing but the best experience. Sometimes our guests have special requests involving delivering clean towels and linens to guest. Most of these requests are fulfilled by our Laundry Sorters. Our hotels are truly luxury hotels. This requires preventing and correcting the imperfections and blemishes that tend to come up. Our Laundry Sorters are relied upon to report these and work with several other positions to correct. Communication is what keeps our departments running perfectly. Our Laundry Sorters must communicate with other departments and extended hotel team in order to ensure the alignment remains. The items shared are essential. However, to ensure consistency, our Laundry Sorters are provided with specifics on how we care for their department and our hotel. The physical ability to stand and or walk continuously. The physical ability to occasionally climb on a ladder to heights in excess of 12’. The physical ability to frequently crouch, push/pull, squat and work above the shoulders during the performance of the daily job routine. The physical ability to use both hands for continuous grasping, fine manipulation. The physical ability to continuously carry/lift up to 40-50 pounds of weight both on flat surfaces and up and down stairs for distances of up to 150 feet. Manually pushes linen carts weighing up to 500 pounds[A1] . Will be lifting stacks and bundles of linens constantly, weighing up to 30 pounds. The physical ability to occasionally lift up to 25-35 pounds of weight between the floor and waist, occasionally from the waist to above the shoulder. The physical ability to work indoors and outdoors in all temperatures and weather conditions when required by the hotel. While performing this job the employee may work outside in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
