Major Duties and Responsibilities:ROTARY MACHINE OPERATION:Receive daily assignments from shift supervisorReport and log in to your station via Plex and communicate with the operator you are relieving if applicableReview your work center for operator goals and objectivesLocate and review the daily production log for the expected shot rate and cycle timeReview the work center area for safety and ensure it is an environment that you can and your fellow employees can operate in without hazardReview work area to make sure it is clean and organized.Review any posted quality alerts at the machineScrap First 5 shots after a machine start-up Remove the molded parts soon as they are available and subsequently load the mold with inserts when running an insert overmold job.
Inspecting, de-gating and post processing should be done after the above.After a cycle stop/interruption of more than 3X the average cycle, operator needs to inform the supervisor continually inspect for flaws based on acceptable criteria.
If a flaw is discovered, do not pack the part, immediately inform your supervisor/set-up technician of the issueInspect for flaws as you are processing/handling partsPack the parts as required If no flaws are presentFollow all customer packaging criteriaStop the process and immediately inform your supervisor of the issue if you have five shots in a row of unacceptable partsCommunicate to the relieving operator any problems you had during your shift including but not limited to the machine, process and work center.Gather scrap, count and record it at the control panel under the correct work centerChange the status of the machine to Down-planned If the machine is being shut down by the process technician Log off work centerRecord your scrap on the production log hang on or near the machineClean and sweep work areaHORIZONTAL MACHINE OPERATION:Log in to your work area via PLEXReview work center for the following operator goals and objectivesLocate and review the daily production log for the expected shot rate and cycle timeReview the work center area for safety and ensure it is an environment that you can and your fellow employees can operate in without hazardReview work area to make sure it is clean and organized.Review any posted quality alerts at the machineScrap First 5 shots after a machine start-up Immediately inform your supervisor If the machines alarms/stops runningWhen changing a part collection tote at the press, segregate the last shot and inspect it for flaws based on acceptable criteria.
If a flaw is discovered, place the entire tote aside, immediately inform your supervisor or quality technician of the issuePack parts as required If no flaws are presentFollow all customer packaging criteriaCommunicate to the relieving operator any problems you had during your shift including but not limited to the machine process and work centerGather up scrap, count and record it at the control panel under the correct work centerChange the status of the machine to Down-Planned If the machine is being shut down by the process technician Log off work centerRecord your scrap on the production log hang on or near the machineClean and sweep work areaAdditional duties as Machine Operator II:Record production/shipping label/master labels/moving inventoryScrap recording at control panel/from containerVisual quality checks at pressMaterial handling verify raw material inventory at the press, fork liftHelp train Machine Operator IOrganize and maintain production area (5s)Educational Requirements: High School diploma or GEDRequired Training:TS 16949 overviewQS9000 overviewHealth and Safety training as applicable
