The Asset Failure Analysis (AFA) team sits under Electric Asset Strategy in Electric Operations.

AFA investigates equipment-caused ignition events by evaluating available data and failed equipment to determine apparent causes of failure.

Team members then establish the extent to which the cause conditions identified exist elsewhere in the system, putting those assets at risk.

Corrective Actions are developed and executed on, to reduce the risk of future failure events.

AFA is a high visibility and fast paced team that has an extensive impact.

The AFA team is also responsible for evaluating and introducing new technology solutions to address gaps in detection and inspection methods for identifying potential operating risks.The Electric Operations group ensures the delivery of safe and reliable electric service to our customers.

Electric Operations is responsible for every aspect of PG& E’s electric distribution, transmission, and substation operations, including planning, engineering, maintenance and construction, asset management, business planning, restoration, and emergency response.Position SummaryPG& E is seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager who is passionate about having a direct and tangible impact on reducing wildfire risk in California.

As the successful candidate, you will lead and develop exciting new data analytics, dashboards, and GIS visualization solutions that will be immediately utilized to support investigations of asset failure incidents that lead to ignition events.

You will review trends of past failure events, disseminate inspection data, and understand the extent to which failure risk conditions exist across the T& D system.

You may support assessment and deployment of improved field detection and evidence collection technology that will provide critical information to understand the causes of asset failures that lead to ignition events.

As an execution-oriented person, you will be responsible for driving corrective actions that directly impact electric grid safety and reliability.

This position requires a person who can thrive in a dynamic work environment and who can quickly disseminate complex failure analytics, identify innovative solutions, develop product roadmaps to support corrective actions, get stakeholder buy-in, test concepts and develop prototypes, and manage continuous improvement cycle to improve efficiency.Flexible Location: CaliforniaJob ResponsibilitiesManage complex products or a group of complex products.

Includes existing products, development of new products, and sunset of products at the end of their lifecycle.Coordinate with partner teams to create reporting dashboards to track PMO progress and to identify trends and key actionable insightsWork with & leverages relationshipswith Directors and Managers across functions / PG& E.Combine multiple datasets within the Palantir Foundry platform to create accessible evaluation toolsResponsible for leading the development and execution of product roadmapsPartner with end users to develop a strong understanding of program needs and prioritize product features and use cases accordingly.Articulate product goals and mission to key stakeholder teams to assure development of a product that meets user needsIdentify product improvement needs based on quantitative analytics, measurement and evaluation reports, and internal ideation and gap analysisDevelop policies and procedures for product use cases and executionIdentify and evaluate existing and emerging technologies and/or products to improve asset failure analysis process and enable data-driven asset management strategiesDevelop business cases to identify principal technical and commercial levers that drive adoption decisionsDevelop Request for Proposals (RFPs) and IT estimates for work related to product improvements.Test product or service offerings in the market (or in simulation)Possesses unique product management and subject matter (domain) expertise, a thought leader.Established relationships with key industry contactsProvide direction and coaching to other Product ManagersQualificationsMinimum:Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Business, Economics, Marketing, Psychology, or related.10+ years of related experience or equivalentDesired:MBA or equivalent graduate degree highly desired5 years of electric industry related experienceExperience leading cross cutting programs and/or technology deploymentsExperience in leading teams for product developmentProven success in working with cross-functional teamsBackground in data analytics, experience in working in large datasetsExperience in developing GIS and maintaining based product toolsExperience with Palantir FoundryBroad expertise in product management and applies advanced knowledge to wide-ranging issuesPossesses unique product management and subject matter (domain) expertise, a thought leader.Working knowledge of various enterprise system modules for managing asset informationIn addition to those for Senior, Principal requires:Ownership of large individual or combined budget.Ability to lead and influence strategic planning and decision-making working with senior management at PG& E
