VP of Finance

We are looking for a self-directed professional with exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities to join a growing insurance company.

Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to): Accountability for Financial Planning and Analysis function including the oversight of the planning and preparation of Company’s annual budget and forecast, monthly reporting to management of budget vs.

actual variance analysis Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of financial information prepared for internal and external customers.

Direct financial audits performed by external auditors and the Virginia Bureau of Insurance Oversee the Company’s cash management and treasury functions Oversee the Company’s compliance activities including, but not limited to, Quarterly and Annual Statements, Risk-Based Capital Report, Holding Company Act filings, tax and other assessments Oversee the organization and maintenance of accounting records Participate in Executive and Board meetings representing Company’s Financial and Accounting Areas Lead financial analysis and work with Company Executive team on Mergers, Acquisition and investment opportunities.

Maintain and apply current knowledge of industry and technical issues through participation in seminars, workshops and publications.

Includes a current knowledge of Statutory Accounting Practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and any other Accounting regulations in all states in which the Company is licensed or pursuing licensure,) Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS Qualifications (required): To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty.

Bachelor’s Degree (B.

S.) in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 7 years accounting experience with exposure to all financial and operational areas of Accounting, preferably in the Insurance or Health Care industry Minimum of 2 years compliance experience preferred Minimum of 2-4 years of supervisory experience Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel with advanced skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong analytical and research skills Ability to work independently and with a team High degree of self motivation and initiative along with a strong work ethic Strong eye for detail and superb organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and successfully prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands, and know when to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate Other Skills and Abilities: Supervisory experience
– Insurance industry experience a plus Consummate professional who is dependable and punctual Reliable self starter with an eagerness to learn and willingness to take on new projects with a positive attitude Resourceful individual with a sense of accountability and pride in his/her work
