Ask about our travel allowance:General Purpose:The NAR is responsible for providing a variety of cares to maintain and support activities of daily living for the residents.
This position includes social interaction, support, personal cares, and other tasks as designated by the Director of Nursing and/or charge nurse.Essential Job Functions: Provide cares as directed utilizing the NAR Assignment Sheet.
Provide resident cares including; bathing, dressing, grooming and oral hygiene, toileting, positioning, transferring mobility and other cares as designated.
Assist with meal set up, feeding, and assists with meal clean up after meal service.
Provides other services as assigned including skin and incontinence care, assisting with prosthetics, nail care, functional skills and as necessaryany observations/monitoring needed.
Follows fall precautions as identified on the NAR Assignment Sheet.
Provides psychosocial support for residents through social interaction and scheduled informal recreational activities and exhibits a genuine respect and care for the emotional well-being of each resident.
Responds to emergency situations and unexpected situations that arise outside of the daily assignment, including calls from residents, security issues and resident falls.
Responds to and reports significant changes in resident health status including but not limited to; choking, change in level of consciousness or behavior, abnormal eating patterns, weight loss, weakness, complaints of pain or other health issues.
Answers call lights promptly.
Utilizes resident transfer and safety equipment properly/according to policy/procedure.
Makes rounds as required.
Measures intakes and outputs as directed.
Obtains resident weights and vitals.
Provides postmortem care as directed.
Completes work in a timely manner.
Promotes and maintains the highest level of independence of resident utilizing nursing rehab skills.Qualifications: Has successfully completed the Nursing Assistant Program and maintains current registration.
Completes the required 12-hours of in-service training each year to maintain their registration.
Maintains satisfactory work performance evaluations and audits.
Be able to read, write, and follow oral directions.
Be able to meet the emotional and physical demands of the Nursing Assistant.
Must be flexible in scheduling, hours, shifts and assignments.
Must be able to work independently as well as be an effective member of the team.
Must be able to handle themselves calmly in emergency situations.
Be positive, responsible and dependable and enjoy working with people.
Must be able to set appropriate boundaries when working with residents and their families.
Must be knowledgeable about the Residents Bill of Rights as it applies to the nursing assistant.In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, all essential job functions are required.
