Foreman Underground Utilities (Wet)

Boudreau Pipeline a top workplace in the Inland Empire for over 5 years is currently looking for a Foreman Underground Utilities (Wet).

Successful candidates will have multiple years experience as a Foreman in wet utilities at the subcontractor level.

Job summary: Complete the Excavation Checklist form at the beginning of each job and file the form in the Foreman’s Job Binder.

For every job, hold a pre-job meeting with the Field Superintendent to determine the schedule and sequence of job activities

Essential Functions
Control labor, material, supply and equipment costs to assure the job is completed on schedule and within budget.

See to it that all work is done in a safe and workman-like manner.

See to it that all work is completed to BPC quality standards the first time with no need to do work a second time to correct problems.

Be completely clear on the job’s Contract Scope of Work and see to it that any work done outside the Scope of Work is done with the Customer’s representative authorizing additional payments for the additional work.

Assure that only required amounts of sand, gravel and other materials are used on the job.

Plan and monitor the work so no materials are wasted.

In coordination with Purchasing, return all excess materials, supplies and equipment from the job site as soon as they are no longer needed at the job site.

Each week, plan the next week’s job activities in order to determine the number of crew members needed each day to complete the work and schedule deliveries of materials, supplies and equipment when needed.

Review this weekly look-ahead plan with the Field Superintendent.

Provide supervision and direction to all crew members at all times.

If an employee is not performing their work in a satisfactory manner, direct the employee to cease work, leave the job site and report to the Field.

Superintendent for appropriate corrective action.

Cooperate and coordinate with other trades on the job site.

Respect the work of other trades as if it was BPC’s work.

Monitor employee job performance, productivity and the size of the work crew and increase or decrease the number of crew members to match job requirements.

Immediately notify the Field Superintendent of the availability of un-needed crew members so they can be reassigned to other job sites.

Responsible to ensure that only qualified operators run the equipment.

Immediately returns rental equipment to the rental agency when it is no longer needed at the job site.

Assures that all rental equipment that needs to be returned with a full tank of fuel has a full tank of the correct fuel.

Manages the job so all work that requires a particular piece of rental equipment is done at the same time thereby assuring the shortest rental period possible
Safety
Conduct weekly tail-gate safety meetings with all crew members and see to it that all related forms and attendance sheets are completed by the employees attending the safety meetings.

Keep copies of the tailgate safety meeting records in the Foreman’s Binder relating to the job.

Report all employee accidents immediately to the Office and the Field Superintendent and immediately complete all accident forms and submit them to the Field Superintendent.

See to it that any injured employee immediately seeks appropriate medical attention.

Sees to it that all employees wear all appropriate protective safety gear and follow all safety regulations and requirements while on the job site.

Keep all work and the job site clean and safe (equipment, bin area, lay down space, supplies and materials.

Ordering / Reordering of Materials, Supplies and Equipment
See to it that all necessary materials, equipment and supplies are on the job site when required and in sufficient quantities to avoid job interruptions and support rapid completion of the job.

Avoid work stoppages by the timely reordering of materials, supplies and equipment.

Place reorders with the Purchasing Department in coordination with the Field Superintendent.

Reports and Recordkeeping Create and send to the office daily Reports by 9:00am the following day.

Keep accurate and timely project records as required by BPC including as-builts, cut sheets, daily reports, accident and injury reports, punch lists, inspector sign-off sheets etc.

Use new Job Folders, keep them organized, and return them to the office or Superintendent when going to another job so the office has access to them.

Track all equipment hours weekly.

Includes truck miles and equipment hours even if the unit was not used during the week.

Log all hours/miles on Friday Daily Report or the Daily for the last day on the job.

Inspections
Request inspections by building inspectors in a timely manner and assure that all inspections are completed and documented on BPC’s inspections sign-off sheet in the Foreman’s Job Binder.

Equipment and Maintenance
Assure that all BPC vehicles, tools and equipment utilized on the Foreman’s job site are maintained in a clean condition and all tools are accounted for at the end of each day Assure proper use and maintenance of all equipment used at the job site (daily, weekly maintenance including grease, oil, air filters etc.) Assure all equipment is returned from the job site in a clean and fully maintained condition.

Immediately notify the Field Superintendent of any equipment problems or malfunctions.

Coordination with Field Superintendent
Immediately notify the Field Superintendent of any changes in on-site conditions that may affect BPC’s work.

Customer Representative Relations
Establish and at all times maintain a good and professional working relationship with the customer’s representative.

Comply with all reasonable requests made by the customer’s representative.

The foreman is to seek the guidance of the Field Superintendent if the Foreman is unsure if a request is reasonable.

The foreman is to inform the customer’s representative of any safety, security or other situations or job site conditions that may be of importance to the customer.

Employee Performance Reviews
When called upon, evaluates employees and makes recommendations regarding pay raises and promotions.

Other Duties and Responsibilities as Assigned
This position is also responsible for accomplishing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Field Superintendent.
