JT Wimsatt serves both public and private sector clients with a range of commercial, industrial, residential, government and specialty projects.

Our portfolio includes parking structures, hospitals, educational facilities, hotels, office buildings, high-rise residential projects, shopping centers, and military projects.

We serve our clients from our corporate headquarters in Valencia, CA and our regional office in San Diego, CA.

Our primary service area is Southern California; however, we work throughout the West Coast and including California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada.Primary Function Provide overall management and assume full responsibility for assigned projects and interface with Client/Owner.

Reports to Project Executive/Vice President.

Construction experience a MUST, with a background in structural concrete highly preferred.Typical Duties and Responsibilities Works as a team with Project Superintendent.

Plans overall construction schedule and schedule development.

Implementation of JTW Project Control Systems.

Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within company policy.

Manage and be responsible for financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expense, etc.) to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with client.

Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of field superintendents and site superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate & resolve serious situations and implement corrective measures.

Provide strong leadership and guidance to field and site superintendents.

Initiate and maintain liaison with client/owner and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.

Participate as requested in the marketing, estimating, bidding and contract negotiations phases of assigned projects.

Prepares and submits monthly, weekly progress reports and cost reports.

Represent company/project in meetings with client, subcontractors, unions, etc.

as required.

Performs other tasks as directed by supervisor.

Review and approve all purchases and insure Purchase Order/Buy Out process is followed.

Timely pricing, approval and execution of Change Order management.

Education & Experience Four year Construction Management or Engineering Degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.

8+ years or more experience in managing projects, or equivalent.

Thorough knowledge of contract documents, materials, equipment utilization, scheduling systems/computer software, productivity analysis, construction operations, and cash flow procedures.

Excellent communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential.

Computer literate with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, Vista Viewpoint and Primavera software.

Periodically travel beyond Southern California.

Upon hire all candidates must provide proof of legal right to work in the United States and pass a background check, drug screen and physical.

Physical Demands Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are necessary.

Mental alertness is necessary to ensure accurate and thorough completion of work activities.

Ability to sit for prolonged periods and efficiently operate computer, calculator, copier, fax and other business office equipment.

Ability to occasionally lift boxes of materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Able to walk on uneven surfaces and climb stairs in various climatic conditions.
